Home prices in Las Vegas started 2020 on pace to have a record-breaking year. While the pandemic has certainly impacted the real estate market, Las Vegas is among the U.S. cities showing positive signs of recovery. This — combined with historically strong demand for housing and persistently tight inventory — is good news for home sellers.

So, you’re ready to list your home…then you look around. Maybe it has been a few years since you updated the kitchen or the master bathroom. Maybe there’s some dry rot or the roof needs some serious attention.

It looks like you have two options: Spend more money fixing it up before you sell, or call an investor and sell “as is” for what seems like a really low offer. Before you make any big decisions, let’s go back to basics.

Stop. First, talk to a real estate agent.

It’s time to weigh the pros and cons with someone who understands the Las Vegas housing market. Discuss your personal situation as well as the particulars of your home, lot, and neighborhood.
